No, Starter Toolkit contains:
- Panorama image extractor:
- Panorama Filemaker;
- Lensflare creator;
- package crypter;
- package creator.

As you can see, there are no tools for making tours present righ now, but as far as I understant the module concept of the Toolkit lets create additional modules in the future, maybe some tool for easyer making of virtual tours will appear.

I like encrypter tool - it lets to tie pano to the domain, url of time window.

yes, some distortion prestent, but it is not very intrusive
I hope this effect will be corrected in the future versions of Pure Player, but even now it can't spoil very positive general impression.

Overall I bought it to support Immervision, I have been using PurePlayer and PurePlayerPro for a couple of months and really like what they have been doing.

I was hoping for a bit more of an advanced package, but it appears that extra modules will be released as they become available. I like the idea of the modular design, so you can buy just what you need.

The actual Panorama creator is not that different to the Free G4 package that was available for free. Although you can now use equirectangular tifs which is nice and output to QTVRs.

However the QTVR output is not as good as pano2qtvr. Out of the three that I have created I have a seam in the sky in two of them.

There is an example here http://www.martinshakeshaft.com/test/test123.html

Both of these panoramas were created from the same tif file. As you can see in the PureTools version there is a seam and other lines in the sky. In the Pano2QTVR version there is not.

It is strange that the Immervision forum has been down since the release!

Regards

Martin

I just got an email from Immervision they have fixed the QTVR problem I reported earlier. I sent them a file to work on. If you have PureTools and run the updater it will update and cure the problem.

I have to say I am impressed with the speed that they sorted this out.

Regards.

QTVR generated with PureTools is HUGE - even when I set low quality (and the pano getting rich with jpg artefacts) :(

Immervision Logo?

Postby mstoss on Tue Aug 01, 2006 2:33 pm

I found, that there is no Immervision Logo any more when the pano is loading. Is this a new feature with the starter pack and is it possible to add a custum logo while waiting for the pano to display?

Immervision..

Postby mhc1 on Sun Aug 20, 2006 4:50 pm

I am using a "Panoramic Gallery" System that has some
restrictions and not full access to every single pano display.

So: is there a sytem, that lets you create the XML- file with a GUI ? Evantually with the possibility to add hotspots.
Even if this wouldn´t be s.th. to be used in the gallery.
Ciao

As it is now, Pure Tools is of less use for me. I show a bit of Immervision on my site to make people aware of it. Its great how the player can handle fullscreen images and: features like lens flare (sometimes criticesed as what it is: a gimmick) have a striking effect on some of my visitors, especially those who are used to see panoramas (so why bother if people like gimmicks?).

The principle of PureTools as a suite of moduls is very good, but as long as they can only present the core of it, my thought was: well, wait until at least one modul is present which I would want to use. Some days ago I asked Immervision, when we could await more moduls, at least if they are thinking in months or years :-)

Immervision was pretty smart in giving me a detailed answer without giving a precise date :-) But at least it gave me the impression, that they work on this heavily. Most important was the one time related information, that they plan to release their flash player to the public before the end of the year. I think I will register the Pure Tools software alone for supporting Immervision now.

I bought it now. QTVR export can nearly be said to be a gimmick. Files are very big and of inferior quality. If you don't own a Mac, which is still the best way to create QTVR, use pano2qtvr.

But hey, I guess creating QTVRs is not the reason to register this promising Immervision product. Let's wait what modules they produce in the next couple of months or so. This is the most interesting piece of software I have seen this year - beside PTGUI for Mac ;-)
