Manfrotto 303 SPH QTVR Head

Hello All :

I am trying to find quick and reliable way to get the Manfrotto "303 SPH" Head on and off a tripod while on location and a compact way to transport it - Thus, to achieve this I have come up with the following approach - Kindly share your thoughts on it :

I use it with the Manfrotto "055 Pro" Tripod with the "3D Pro 229" Head.

PART I.
1. Employ the "055 Pro" Tripod with it's attached Head the ( "3D Pro 229" Head ). - PLEASE NOTE : The "3D Pro 229 " Head comes with a fixed "Hexagonal Plate Adapter" - Thus, my camera has a "Hexagonal Plate" always attached to it for easy attachment/detachment on/off the tripod.
3. Next, screw in a "Hexagonal Plate" onto the bottom of the "303 SPH" Head.
4. This should then enable the attachment/detachment of the "303 SPH" Head onto the tripod's head quickly and accurately.
5. In other words, stack one head on top of the other using the "Hexagonal Adapter/Plate" system.

PART II.
A. To achieve the same flexibility between the camera and the "303 SPH" Head a "Hexagonal Plate Adapter" will be attached to the vertical arm of the "303 SPH" Head which in turn will permit attaching/detaching the camera to the "303 SPH" Head resulting in a similar type of flexibility as in Part I.

Thus with the above 2 Parts, I am trying to attach/detach the "303 SPH" Head on to the existing Head of my tripod and perform the same for attaching/detaching the camera onto the "303 SPH" head.

QUESTION : Will this work noting the dynamics of a Spherical Head and will the added parts weaken the "system" in terms of stability ?

I need make sure the following approach works as I reside in India and unfortunately do not have any photo stores that stocks these QTVR Heads to test this out and once I order it from the US, it will be very difficult to return it if it does not work well..

Any thoughts, ideas, etc - Will appreciate your replies.

Thanks,

Jai
