CMS Introduction

Postby Bert on Tue Dec 19, 2006 5:53 am

Dear Readers,

I am busy making a CMS for Panographers. Its a very "light weight" PHP application.

It uses templates, both for its looks and Panoramas, and bbcode, similar to a phpBB forum, for formatting text and links to Pano's.

It requires Apache with mod_rewrite, PHP v 4.1x or above with GD, MySql, and access to htaccess files, a configuration used with most hosting providers.

My Test Site: http://www.360nl.com/

Another template, not functional http://www.panohost.com/

I think it makes it real easy to publish you Pano's :

Just FTP you panorama(s) to your site, and enter a new item in the CMS

Of course the CMS will be free to use for all.

If you want to beta test it, drop me a PM.

Bert,

I can start testing tonight.

The templates looks well, the functionality is more than sufficient for simple pano blog!

Ok, I have send you an email.....

Oh, did I already tell you that you just have to upload ONE single quicktime movie and then can display the pano in QT, Deval, SPIV and Flash :P

(if it is a normal uncompressed, unprotected 6 tile qt)

I am thinking about adding Google Maps functionality....

Andrey's host doesn't support mod_rewrite, so I have to build in an option to make it work without....

Anyway, Google Maps will be integrated....

Look here:

http://cms.360rage.com/googlemap-p-3.htm

Just ad a location with your pano, and it will be shown on the map :)

Bert,

Interesting bug - look at the last item in my blog.

Thesecond thumbnail is replaced by the first one despithe the names are different - light.jpg and light2.jpg

It seems that only one pano can be placed inside the item.

But iff I edit the link manually it works correctly: http://around.1drey.com/panoramas/showd ... p?p=light2

I was trying to use tag in the body of item, but didn't succeed

Is this tag supported by CMS?

UPDATE - everything works okay, I must be misprinting somewhere!
